Riding, especially for children, takes centre stage at the Hotel Kesselgrubs, which is a member of the European Children’s Hotels and is one of Austria’s leading hotels for families with children.  Nature is also an important aspect – whether in a large garden with a solar heated lake under the hotel, in sport activities for guests of all ages or in the presence of animals, which await our guest children. The immediate surroundings elicit the magnificent mountain world, more gentle towards the Altenmarkt, and alpine in the Zauchensee. In Winter, the Kesselgrub is the perfect skiing resort in the whole Amadé Ski World, which is Austria’s largest ski area, with its 860km sloping tacks, 270 ski lifts and cable cars as well as 260 huts.
In our children’s riding weeks, which can be booked in addition to your accommodation package, children have the opportunity to become young equestrian professionals. The programme includes general theory, learning how to handle a horse properly and daily riding lessons in various activity groups, and comes to a finish with an enjoyable riding competition. 

Moreover, one can also book individual and group riding lessons, trail rides and much more, either separately or as forming part of a package.  Sleigh and carriage rides with our own horses leave directly from the hotel.  Since the region of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is over 200km long, there is a well-marked network of bridle paths at altitudes ranging from 850 to 2000m high, which ensures a wonderful and enjoyable ride among the natural ambience. Trail riding is offered in collaboration with a partner company.
